VOLUNTEER
Volunteers are what bring Autism on the Water to life. From all walks of life whether a sailor, a parent, working or retired, a student or simply someone looking for something to do. We have a range of roles available to you.
You will get a chance to sail on some of the finest sailing waters in the world, meet new people and help bring new memories to people with autism.

Skippers
Skippers are the persons in charge of our yachts. They are responsible for the safety of both our guests and volunteer crew. Whether sailing on Confidence, Positivity or a charter yacht, you are guaranteed excellent sailing whether from Oban, Helensburgh, Edinburgh or Cowes!

To skipper one of our yachts, applicants must have a minimum Yachtmaster certificate and up to date First Aid and a PVG or Disclosure Scotland check
Admin
It is not everyone's favourite job but it can also be very rewarding. Running a charity comes with a busy administrative program. From writing sponsorship invoices, responding to emails and documenting meetings, to negotiating sponsorship - it's a never-ending process!
To help with admin, applicants must have full experience with all Microsoft software, be vetted by the charity to make sure that you meet the trustworthiness standard required to ensure confidentiality is maintained and undergo a PVG or Disclosure Scotland check.
Shoreside Marshalls
Whether hosting an open day or going through the Crinan Canal, shoreside marshalls play a huge role in directing people for example where to locate the boat their sailing or manning a certain section on the canal for our guest's safety.

Applicants should have up-to-date First Aid and a PVG or Disclosure Scotland check.
Crew
Crewing is an important part of being able to run our activities on our yachts. The Crew is important to ensure that the skipper is fully supported when operating one of our yachts and supporting and looking after our guests on board.
To be a crew member, applicants should have a minimum of 2 years of sailing experience, an up-to-date First Aid and a PVG or Disclosure Scotland check
Media
If you are a video-making guru or a social media lover, this role is for you!

We are looking for skilled people to help with video-making, photography, conducting interviews with our guests and capturing the best moments of our activities.
Applicants should have full knowledge of video and photo editing software and own their own equipment and undergo a PVG or Disclosure Scotland check.

Fundraisers
Being a not-for-profit organisation, we have to continuously seek funding to continue the operation of Autism on the Water. Fundraising is a great way to get involved whether it's shaking a tin, running a coffee morning or doing something daft like the London marathon!
