About the event

Autism on the Water are returning to Haslar for our 3rd south coast event of the year. Due to high demand, we advise you book your free tickets quickly to secure your slot. All slots for the day are completely free of charge, however donations are always welcome if you so wish.  Each party member should fill out an individual form as part of their booking. All person under the age of 18, as well as adults with high support needs must be accompanied by a suitable accompanying adult who is familiar with their needs.  No 1 person, can be the accompanying adult for more than 3 people. Please also be aware that all accompanying adults must book their own ticket.

Please read the following information before booking your spot:

We will be based at Haslar Marina, by the entrance to the pontoon nearest the Lightship restaurant.

We will be offering a range of different sailing experience, including 1hr tasters for those who have never been out on the water, and a few longer 2.5hr voyages for those who have been on the water before and confident to be out longer. Each ticket option will have a description of the boat in question and the type of trip it is taking.

Life jackets will be provided. It is mandatory for all guests to wear a life jacket at all times when on the pontoon, or onboard the vessel. Therefore please do not enter the pontoon before you have been greeted and your life jacket has been put on correctly. Assistance will be provided to ensure all lifejackets are put on correctly.

Please be aware that the weather on the water is usually exaggerated to that on land. if it is sunny we still advise you to bring a waterproof jacket. Please be aware that on all craft there is a risk of getting splashed, and suitable footwear should be worn (ie older trainers, boots).

Please make sure that the email that you chose is one that you check regularly, as you will recieve information about the day through that address.

Please note that the information given in the booking form will be stored securely by the charity, and used to ensure you have chosen the correct venture for you and those sailing with you. we will not disclose any contact details to any volunteers. Other details such as name, age, information regarding autism diagnosis and any particular triggers will be shared with volunteers participating in the day to ensure that they best meet your needs.

During the booking process you will be asked whether you give permission for photo/videos to be taken of your party. This has no effect on the rest of the booking process. If you change your mind on the day, please make sure to inform the check-in person.

While we are aware that circumstances may arise that mean you can no longer make use of your ticket, we do ask that you inform us as soon as you are made aware of these circumstances. You can do so by emailing maxaotw@gmail.com. Even if you find out on the day, it is still useful for us to know that you are no longer coming. A reserve list will be available for those unable to secure a ticket. To be added to the reserve list, please contact maxaotw@gmail.com.

It is very important that you arrive in plenty of time to get on board for your sail. We ask that you aim to arrive at the check-in 20mins prior to your sail time. This means, for example, if you are due to sail at 11am, you should aim to arrive at 10:40am. Anyone who arrives less than 10mins before their sail time cannot be guaranteed a sail.
